INDEPENDENT FILM DISCOVERYGOOD STORIES. GREAT MOVIE NIGHTS.
MOVIEPASS.ORG

Our editorial approach.

Sources you can follow. Opinions you can evaluate. No invented consensus.

Facts and perspectives do different jobs

Movie years, director names, and selected cast credits are factual claims. Their source is named on each film or actor page. Review paragraphs, viewing questions, and leaderboard positions are original editorial judgments. They are not a poll, a statistical consensus, or an assertion that every viewer should respond the same way.

The collection has a visible boundary

The film database contains 12 selected titles, and the actor database contains eight selected role profiles. A missing film or credit has not been judged unimportant. These pages do not claim to replace a comprehensive scholarly catalog or a complete professional filmography. External sources may offer broader records than the selection shown here.

Spoiler-conscious, not surprise-proof

Reviews discuss a starting premise, style, performance, and audience fit without reconstructing endings. Different readers draw spoiler boundaries in different places. We avoid promises that a review can preserve every surprise for every person. For practical reading strategies, use the spoiler-conscious review guide.

Ratings and rankings

We do not display invented aggregate ratings or audience counts. The movie leaderboard is an editorial viewing order limited to the films in our collection. Its selection rationale is visible beside each title, and its methodology appears on the same page. Age suitability and artistic evaluation remain separate questions.

Sources in the journal

Each Screening Room article contains one editorial outbound source, selected for direct relevance to the factual point it supports. Practical examples are identified as hypothetical where they use invented numbers. General planning suggestions and interpretations are offered as methods, not as measured outcomes or provider guarantees. We do not copy other publications’ review text.

Artwork

Film illustrations and journal cards are original editorial graphics. They are not official studio posters, production stills, or a representation of endorsement by a film’s rights holder. Actor cards use graphic monograms rather than invented photographic likenesses. Film and performer names identify the subjects being discussed.

Corrections

A correction request is not a guarantee of a particular response time; it is a route for bringing a checkable issue to our attention.
